The Loonse and Drunense Dunes form one of the largest drifting sand areas in Western Europe, often called the Brabant Sahara. Located between Tilburg, Waalwijk and ’s-Hertogenbosch, the area is part of a national park and offers a truly unique landscape.
The scenery consists of wide open sand plains, dense forests and heathland. The wind constantly reshapes the landscape, making every visit a new experience. Whether you're here for a peaceful walk, a bike ride or just to enjoy nature, the park offers something for everyone.
Marked trails are available for hikers, cyclists, horse riders and mountain bikers. Children can roam freely, build sandcastles or explore the natural surroundings. The variety of plants and animals adapted to this dry environment adds to the richness of the park.
Several cafés, visitor centers and parking areas are located at the edges of the park. The dunes are accessible year-round and offer a different atmosphere with each season – blooming heather in summer, vibrant colors in autumn and peaceful winter stillness.
The Loonse and Drunense Dunes are a natural escape where wind, sand and silence create a landscape that feels like another world.
