Mariahoeve in Putten is a beautifully preserved farm museum on the edge of the Veluwe, offering a glimpse into rural life between 1900 and 1960. Everything in the house and on the farmyard has remained as it once was – from the bed boxes and cookware to the tools and toys.
The farm was home to the van den Brink family for five generations and was opened to the public in 2003. Visitors walk through the living quarters, barns and surrounding land, experiencing the simplicity and rhythm of a bygone era.
Knowledgeable volunteers share stories about daily life, hard labor, and customs. Children can dress up, play traditional games and help out in the garden, making it a fun and educational visit.
Next to the farm is a cozy tea room with homemade treats. The quiet countryside makes this an ideal spot to relax or continue exploring the Veluwe by foot or bicycle. Special events like harvest days and craft afternoons are organized throughout the season.
Mariahoeve is open from spring through autumn and welcomes both individuals and groups. It’s a small-scale, heartfelt experience that brings history to life.
