You must definitely visit the lighthouse. This striking construction is 55m high and, with a light intensity of 4,5 million candles, it is one of the strongest in the world. On the entire island, you can feel the presence of this high beacon.
In Hollum there are two museums, the Sorgdragersmuseum and the Reddingsmuseum and tower mill De Verwachting. In addition to the special cultural heritage, Hollum also offers facilities such as a 9-hole golf course.
Hotel-Restaurant De Walvisvaarder is located in the middle of the centre and has a lovely, sunny terrace. In 2020, this small hotel was completely renovated. The hotel has 9 rooms. All rooms have an own bathroom with shower and toilet, free WiFi, an electric kettle and a Flatscreen TV. Some rooms also have a balcony. The hotel does not have a lift.
Breakfast is served in the cosy brasserie or, when the weather is nice, on the terrace.
