The Kröller-Müller Museum is one of the most unique museums in the Netherlands, located in the heart of De Hoge Veluwe National Park. It is internationally renowned for its exceptional collection of works by Vincent van Gogh and for hosting one of the largest sculpture gardens in Europe.
The museum was founded on the collection of Helene Kröller-Müller, a visionary art patron and one of Van Gogh’s earliest supporters. Today, the museum houses nearly 90 of his paintings and over 180 drawings, making it the second-largest Van Gogh collection in the world. Highlights include The Potato Eaters, Café Terrace at Night and The Bridge in the Rain.
Beyond Van Gogh, the museum also features works by Mondrian, Seurat, Picasso, Monet and many others. Exhibitions rotate regularly, offering both classic and contemporary insights.
A major highlight is the 25-hectare sculpture garden, where over 160 pieces are on display. Strolling through the garden, visitors encounter works by Rodin, Moore, Hepworth and Dubuffet, thoughtfully placed in a natural setting that changes with the seasons.
The museum offers a café, gift shop and educational programs. Families will appreciate the children’s activities, including art scavenger hunts and creative workshops.
To reach the museum, visitors enter the national park and can use the iconic white bicycles provided free of charge. The scenic ride leads through forest, heath and sand dunes, blending nature and art into a peaceful and inspiring journey.
The Kröller-Müller Museum is more than an art destination – it’s a serene cultural retreat where nature and creativity meet in perfect harmony.
