National Park De Hoge Veluwe is the largest actively managed nature reserve in the Netherlands and one of the most diverse parks in Europe. Located in Gelderland, between Arnhem, Ede, and Apeldoorn, the park covers over 5,400 hectares of forests, heathlands, grass plains, and sand drifts.
What makes De Hoge Veluwe unique is the blend of unspoiled nature, art, and architecture. Visitors can enjoy vast landscapes where red deer, wild boar, roe deer, and mouflons roam freely. Each season brings a new charm: blooming heath in summer, colorful foliage in autumn, and serene beauty in winter.
A highlight of the park is the **Kröller-Müller Museum**, situated in the heart of the reserve. It houses an impressive collection of works by Vincent van Gogh and features a large sculpture garden. You can also visit the historic **Jachthuis Sint Hubertus**, designed by architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage.
The park is perfect for walking and cycling. There are numerous marked trails throughout the area. Unique are the free-to-use **white bicycles**, allowing you to explore the park at a relaxed pace.
Families can enjoy special educational walks and nature activities. The **Museonder**, an underground museum, reveals life beneath the earth's surface and is loved by both young and old.
National Park De Hoge Veluwe is where nature and culture meet. A day in the park means enjoying peace, space, and the rich flora and fauna of this area. Whether for an active outdoor day or to admire art and history – De Hoge Veluwe offers something for everyone.
